Baker to receive Distinguished Alumni citationPosted October 01, 2013
Chad Baker, vice president and regional manager for Houston real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle, will be honored by Abilene Christian University with one of its most prestigious awards.
Baker, who has worked at Jones Lang LaSalle all 14 years since his graduation in 1999, will receive a Distinguished Alumni Citation in a ceremony at First Colony Church of Christ on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Baker has worked with clients such as Energy Transfer, Mazda and Shell Oil, negotiating more than 200 commercial real estate transactions worth nearly $1.1 billion. In March he received Jones Lang LaSalle’s Champion of Excellence award, which recognizes an employee’s personal performance, leadership, client service and ability to perform consistently at the industry’s highest level.
Among the firm’s 40,000 employees, only five receive Champion of Excellence awards. Of a similar number of alumni, ACU awards just three Distinguished Alumni Citations each year.
Since 1969 the Distinguished Alumni Citation has recognized distinctive personal and professional achievement that has merited honor and praise of peers and colleagues.
Other 2013 recipients are Shannon Wilburn of Tulsa, Okla., co-founder of the Just Between Friends consignment sale, and Rob Thomas of Dallas, founder of Igniter Media and the RT Creative Group.
