This summer, more than 90 students are participating in seven programs offered by the Center for International Education. “We are thrilled that more than 90 students are abroad with ACU this summer,” says Stephen Shewmaker, director for the Center for International Education. “These study abroad experiences are highly transformative and give students the opportunity to stretch the bounds of their education academically, spiritually and personally while having the opportunity to walk beside ACU's outstanding faculty members as they guide them through the experience.”
In addition to making these summer programs run smoothly, Shewmaker and Dr. Stephen Johnson, dean of the Honors College, are developing a new study abroad program. Open only to Honors College students, the program will include six weeks in the United Kingdom, Spain and Ghana, starting in the summer of 2014. Another change is set to occur in 2015, when ACU Study Abroad will begin offering regular summer programs in Asia.
