Movies on the Hill are back!

Posted May 30, 2013

Please note: All films, dates and times listed below are for 2013.

If you live in or around Abilene, we invite you to spend an evening with
a brave princess who decides to forge her own path in life – and with a
criminal mastermind who hatches a grand scheme – and with a small-time
magician who gets swept into an enchanted land – and with a coach whose
perseverance turns his high school football team and his hometown upside
down.

You’ll find them starring in family-friendly films monthly throughout the
summer on ACU's campus.

Grab a blanket or lawn chair and join us for our first movie night on June
4 at 8:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies
Building. Food trucks from The Smokery and Gypsy Blu will open at 7:30
p.m., and will accept cash and credit cards.

"We're excited to offer a fun, family-friendly evening for the Abilene
community,” says ACU Alumni Relations director Craig Fisher. “We strive to
provide a welcoming place not only for our alumni, but also for our
neighbors. These monthly events are a way for us to say thank you to our
incredible alumni and repay a little of the support we receive every day
from the residents of Abilene.”

Admission is free, but ACU Alumni Relations will collect donations that
night to benefit the Noah Project. Items needed include flip-flops in
women’s and kids’ sizes; canned meats and pasta; and new pillows. The OC
Singers will also be on hand to perform before the movie. They will accept
donations for tornado victims in Moore, Okla. Patrons can donate money as
well as gift cards; packaged socks, underwear and undershirts; storage
tubs; and miscellaneous other personal items such as wet wipes, sunscreen
and bug spray.

"ACU has many alumni in the Oklahoma City area, and our hearts and prayers
have gone out to the victims of last week's tornado in Moore,” says Fisher.
“We were thrilled to have the opportunity to help in whatever way we could."
