Registration for Springboard Ideas Challenge open

Posted March 06, 2013

The Griggs Center for Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy at ACU is now accepting registration for its sixth annual Springboard Ideas Challenge. Early registration ends March 8 with an early fee of $10, and final registration ends March 27 with a $20 fee.

The Springboard Ideas Challenge is a mini-business plan competition aimed at providing aspiring entrepreneurs with prizes to help start up their businesses. The contest awards more than $100,000 in cash and in-kind donations in two divisions: college students and members of the West Texas community. Competitors must reside in or attend college in one of the 19 counties in the Big Country region.

The Springboard Ideas Challenge has provided many entrepreneurs with a starting point to launch their ventures, including Pharos Resources, Enchilada Express and Dream Spectrum Design. The community level grand prize consists of $15,000 in cash and $35,000 in office space. The college level grand prize consists of $7,500 in cash.

Finalists will be announced April 15, with selected finalists presenting their business concepts to a panel of expert judges on April 20. An awards dinner will be held April 23 to celebrate and announce the winners.
