Relationship expert and alumnus to speak for Sacred Relationships seriesPosted January 30, 2013
On Monday, Feb. 4, world-renowned relationship coach, licensed therapist, international speaker and organizational consultant Hal Runkel ('00) will speak on ACU's campus, both in chapel and during a chapel forum later that afternoon. His visit is part of the Sacred Relationship series sponsored annually by ACU.
"We're pleased to have Hal join us for this event," says Steve Rowlands, director of ACU's Counseling Center. "He is an accomplished speaker, writer and television personality who has a great desire to help individuals develop strong, healthy personal connections. We are delighted to have someone with his background and qualifications join us in our work to strengthen relationships."
Runkel is the Founder and President of the Scream Free Institute, an organization committed to equipping parents, couples and professionals. He has written three New York Times bestsellers: ScreamFree Parenting (2007), ScreamFree Marriage (2011), and The Self-Centered Marriage (2012). Runkel has been featured in more than 1,000 media outlets, including NBC’s Today Show, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and The 700 Club, and with his wife, Jenny, hosted “ScreamFree Radio” on Atlanta’s 750 WSB-Radio.
Runkel is a graduate of ACU's Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program and received a Distinguished Alumni Citation for 2012. He says the principles he learned during his time at ACU have aided him in his work as a relationship coach and expert.
