Communication faculty, students present at national conferencePosted December 20, 2012
On Nov. 15-18, faculty members and students from ACU's Department of Communication gave presentations and received awards at the 98th Annual Convention of the National Communication Association in Orlando, Fla.
Dr. Joe Cardot, professor and chair of the department, and Dr. Paul Lakey, professor and director of communication graduate studies, received the Top Panel Award for the Training & Development Division for their program, “Aristotle to Zarefsky: Training Delivery -- Is it Public Speaking or Something More?” Dr. J.D. Wallace, associate professor of communication, received the Top Reviewer Award for his work analyzing all presentation submissions for the Training & Development Division at the convention.
Senior Chad Kelly presented a rhetorical analysis paper, “Oppression: The X-Men Evolution,” in the Top Papers Panel. His work was considered along with undergraduate, graduate and doctoral student submissions from across the country.
“As an ACU faculty member, I've never been more proud to participate in our university's communication department,” says Dr. Jon Camp, assistant professor of communication.
