Prof receives award for excellence in physical education

Associate professor Dr. Lynn Luttrell of the ACU Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition is the recipient of the 2012 Honor Award for excellence and leadership by the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (TAHPERD). Luttrell will be recognized at the 89th Annual TAHPERD Convention on Nov. 30 in Galveston.

“Dr. Luttrell has earned this distinguished recognition for demonstrating leadership, achieving excellence and being an outstanding representative in the teaching profession,” says Diana Everett, executive director of TAHPERD.

The mission of the ACU Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition is to prepare students to serve and lead through the development of healthful lifestyles. Dr. Luttrell models this mission for his students.

Dr. Joe Bell, chair and associate professor of the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition, says, "It would be difficult to find many who are as dedicated to TAHPERD as Dr. Luttrell. He is deserving of this honor.”
