ACU among Top 20 regional universitiesPosted September 12, 2012
Abilene Christian University is again ranked among the nation's Top 20 regional universities (West) as determined by U.S. News & World Report in its new "America's Best Colleges" guide. ACU ranks 19th, which is noteworthy when considering the West region includes 15 states and 89 top-tier schools.
In addition, ACU ranks among the top 15 universities in our region in the category of “Great Schools at Great Prices” for the 5th consecutive year. ACU ranks 13th for this category that is awarded to institutions based on a school’s overall academic quality weighed against net cost of attendance.
"We're proud to be recognized once again for the exceptional nature of our academic quality," says Dr. Phil Schubert, ACU president. "It's evidence that our students can feel confident about their learning experience and the value of their degree. Our accomplished faculty continue to deliver an education for our students in a way that distinguishes the university."
The new designation from U.S. News comes as ACU continues to earn recognition as a premier university, with new honors this summer from The Princeton Review and Forbes magazine. ACU's academic quality, innovative teaching methods, vibrant student life and affordability have helped the university receive top spots in the rankings that matter to students, parents and educators.
The Princeton Review names ACU one of the "Best in the West" for 2012. We are one of 121 schools receiving this distinction as "academically excellent institutions of higher learning" for the 15-state western region of the U.S.
ACU is also one of "America's Best Colleges" as determined by Forbes Magazine in a rankings list published in August 2012. Forbes joined with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity to chose 650 schools based on "the quality of the education they provide, the experience of the students and how much they achieve." ACU ranks among the top ten percent of the 6,600 accredited post-secondary institutions eligible for consideration. ACU and Pepperdine University were the only two universities on the list affiliated with Churches of Christ.
