English prof contributes to new Christian leadership book

Effective leadership is essential for the flourishing of any academic institution, and a new book co-authored by ACU's Dr. Jeanine Varner, professor of English, instructs upcoming leaders on how to excel in a Christian context. Thriving in Leadership: Strategies for Making a Difference in Christian Higher Education presents an engaging introduction to leadership approaches and strategies in Christian higher education, aiming to strengthen the leaders of today and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

The book contains contributions from Varner and 14 other senior leaders from Christ-centered colleges and universities across North America.

“The challenges of our country and our world call for gifted individuals to provide insightful and competent leadership," says prominent author and pastor Rick Warren. "This encouraging yet provocative book draws from the leadership well of such gifted leaders, offering fresh insights that can benefit readers across the non-profit and for-profit spectrum."

Thriving in Leadership is edited by Karen A. Longman and was released by ACU Press on August 7.
