ACU ranked as 2012 'Great College to Work For'

Posted August 06, 2012

The Chronicle for Higher Education just published its 2012 list of the nation's Great Colleges to Work For, and Abilene Christian University has earned recognition for the fifth consecutive year. ACU is cited in the category of Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship for the excellence of the university's supervisors in making expectations clear and soliciting ideas from their employees.

"Our faculty and staff have a truly special connection to those who lead their departments," says ACU president Dr. Phil Schubert. "We appreciate The Chronicle of Higher Education's recognition of these working relationships since they are at the heart of what helps us serve our students and accomplish our mission."

The Chronicle surveyed almost 47,000 administrators, faculty members, and professional support staff members at 300 institutions of higher learning. The publication also gathered an institutional audit of information on demographics and workplace policies from each institution. ACU is among only 79 four-year institutions to be honored.
