Posted July 11, 2012

charles siburtThe valiant health struggles of Dr. Charles Siburt ('68) ended this morning when Abilene Christian University's associate dean for ministry programs and services died in Abilene of complications from IgM Multiple Myeloma.

One of Siburt's goals was to overcome his treatments and eventually return to the classroom, which he did in May 2012.

Siburt, who also was the O.L. and Irene Frazer Professor of Church Enrichment, led ACU's popular ElderLink Forum program since its inception in November 2000, as well as sabbatical retreats for more than 400 ministers and spouses over the past 15 years through the university's Ministers Support Network, both designed as proactive and restorative services for church leaders.
