ACU Chef places 2nd in 2012 ARAMARK Higher Education Southwest Region ACE Challenge

 ACU's executive chef Tony Domingue won second place in the 2012 ARAMARK ACE Challenge for the Southwest Region, held in Dallas on April 5. Ten chefs from around the region gathered at the Umphrey Lee Center at Southern Methodist University for an intense and exciting competition. Each of the participants had three hours to create a two-course meal for a group of three tasting judges, all of whom were certified executive chefs. The competitors were also judged in the kitchen during their meal preparations.

Domingue was awarded the silver medal, beating chefs from Baylor, Trinity and Southern Methodist University. His two courses wowed the judges, who savored his main course of red snapper with artichoke and white bean ragout and broccoli for dinner, and apple and dried fruit cake, served with almond sauce and sweet mascarpone, for dessert.
