Posted March 26, 2012

An article by ACU's Dr. J.D. Wallace, associate professor of communication, and co-authors recently received the "Best of Public Relations Journal" award. The article was selected by a sub-committee of the Journal's Editorial Review Board to be a part of the "Best of Public Relations Journal" competition and presented at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) International Conference.

Wallace's article is titled "Rehabilitating Your Organization's Image: Public Relations Professionals' Perceptions of the Effectiveness and Ethicality of Image Repair Strategies in Crisis Situations." It reports on crisis communication strategies that are considered ethical, strategies that are most effective, and strategies likely to be used or recommended, based on a pilot study of public relations professionals.

Wallace co-authored the article with Denise Ferguson of Pepperdine University and Robert Chandler of the University of Central Florida. PRSA is the world's largest annual gathering of public relations practitioners with more than 32,000 members.
