Chief of Police Ellison elected president of Texas police association

Posted January 30, 2012

The Texas Association of College and University Police Administrators, or TACUPA, has elected ACU Chief of Police Jimmy Ellison as its 2012 president. "I am proud to serve as president and look forward to continuing the good works of TACUPA," says Ellison. "I am honored to represent campus law enforcement professionals across Texas."

TACUPA is a statewide association for law enforcement professionals that strives to be the voice for campus law enforcement matters of legislation, news and other areas. The group is also affiliated with TPCA, the Texas Police Chiefs Association, which serves all campus and municipal police chiefs in Texas.

Ellison has received honors from both organizations. He was named TACUPA's 2010 Bill G. Daniels Outstanding Police Administrator. Ellison was also named TACUPA's representative on the TPCA Executive Board. He continues to play an instrumental role in helping keep the ACU community safe.
