Images of Aging Photo Contest Accepting Entries Nov. 14

Posted November 11, 2011

The second annual Images of Aging Photo Contest, sponsored by the Pruett Gerontology Center, ACU's Department of Art and Design, and the Learning Studio, will kick off Nov. 14, 2011 and will close on Feb. 24, 2012.

The contest encourages students with a passion for photography to interact with and appreciate older adults, while developing their digital media and photography skills.

"Last year's response was fantastic! The high quality of the photos was a good indication of the talent here at ACU and I think everyone who participated enjoyed the experience," says Sue Garcia, administrative coordinator in the Pruett Gerontology Center. "We plan to continue the contest as long as students want to combine their love of photography with love for the older people who touch their lives."

The contest has three categories: Black and White, Color and Mobile photography. Students can check out cameras from the AT&T Learning Studio and receive technical help from studio staff members. To qualify, each photo must have at least one subject who is 60 years of age or older. Also, all subjects of each photo must sign a model release form.

Further instructions and full details about participating in the contest can be found on the Images of Aging blog. Learn more about the Pruett Gerontology Center here.
