ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers go digital

Posted September 22, 2011

ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers are stepping into the digital age with the digitization of the press's top sellers, including several backlist titles. With 98 titles currently available in Apple's iBookstore, many of the press's titles will be available to a much larger audience, allowing them to continue to inspire, enlighten and educate.

Leafwood Publishers is an imprint of ACU Press, which has published titles ranging from theology to Christian living for more than 25 years. The press is delighted to provide its books in both printed and digital formats.

"We are really excited about being able to offer so many of our titles in e-book format through Apple's iBookstore," said Seth Shaver, marketing manager at ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers. "It allows us to get these wonderful, life-changing books into the hands of all those who enjoy reading books in a digital format – not just here, but around the world."

ACU Press is privileged to have many ACU professors as the authors of titles now offered in digital form.

Rick Lytle, dean of the College of Business Administration at ACU, challenges his readers to live God-honoring lives of distinction in Abandon the Ordinary: Building a Distinctive Leadership Brand in Business, Family and Church. Drawing on his professional expertise and many years of experience in marketing and management, Dr. Lytle offers readers a down-to-earth approach to standing apart from the generic imitations of leadership that plague many organizations.

Dr. Jeanene Reese, associate chair for the Department of Bible, Missions and Ministry and director of the Center for Women in Christian Service, writes openly and truthfully in her recent book, Bound & Determined: Christian Men and Women in Partnership, about the ways in which God designed men and women to work together.

Other ACU professors with titles in digital form include Randy Harris, instructor of Bible, with Soul Work: Confessions of a Part-Time Monk and God Work: Confessions of a Standup Theologian, and Mike Cope, instructor of Bible, with Megan's Secrets: What My Mentally Disabled Daughter Taught Me About Life.

ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers will continue to work with Apple to increase the number of titles offered digitally. Plans are already underway to expand into other formats for the Kindle and the Nook.
