Alum to appear on show about TX musicians

ACU alumnus Zane Williams (’99) will be featured on several episodes of a new TV show called Troubadour, TX, set to debut September 24. The show will follow the lives of several singer-songwriters in Texas, including Williams.

Williams graduated from ACU with a bachelor's degree in math, but dreamed of working in the music industry. He moved to Nashville and traveled all over the country, playing at hundreds of colleges and universities, before moving back to Texas and released the album, "The Right Place."

The show, which will air on The CW in Abilene, will not be like the reality shows viewers are used to seeing; Troubadour, TX is shot in a more documentary style.

"The producers of the show are music lovers who have a real respect for artists and a genuine interest in their personal stories," says Williams. "Unlike most reality TV these days, this show never asked us to do anything out of character or manipulated our situations to create fake drama. They just asked us to be real, be ourselves, and allow them to tell our stories."
