Guerra appointed to key post

Heriberto “Berto” Guerra Jr., a San Antonio businessman known for his political savvy and command of public policy, has been tapped by Mayor Julián Castro as the next board chairman of the San Antonio Water System.

Guerra, 61, is chief executive officer of Avanzar Interior Technologies GP, an interior-parts manufacturer for Toyota trucks built in San Antonio.  He is also a member of ACU's Board of Trustees.

He's had a wide-ranging and lengthy business career, starting with owning a restaurant at 18 and serving as vice president of legislative and constituency affairs for Southwestern Bell, now AT&T.  Read more here.
