Three on ACU's HR team earn certification

Three members of ACU's Human Resources office recently earned certifications from the HR Certification Institute through their extensive experience and an examination.

Jill Fortson, ACU's staff development manager, and Robyn Smith, ACU's talent management specialist, each earned certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Wendy Jones, director of human resources, was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

"Robyn, Jill and I are honored to have earned certification from the HR Certification Institute, which is the credentialing body for human resource professionals," says Jones. "Obtaining this certification demonstrates to the university our commitment to the faculty and staff at ACU as well as to the human resource profession."

Becoming certified requires passing a comprehensive examination and demonstrating an extensive record of professional HR experience. For Fortson, Smith and Jones, these new certifications signal their mastery of the field of HR management through theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
