Veterans Day ceremony, Nov. 11

Posted November 09, 2010

ACU will celebrate Veterans Day at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 with a ceremony in Moody Coliseum.

"This is an annual opportunity to remember and show our appreciation to the veterans, many of whom are ACU alumni and members of our staff," says Dr. Gary McCaleb, vice president of the university.

ACU's Grand Chorus will sing the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "The Star-Spangled Banner," and "A Tribute to the Armed Services," during which veterans will stand as their service's song is performed.

The ceremony will also feature a video interview with Mary Wofford who will discuss her experience during World War II as a flight nurse in the Army's Nurse Corps.

"The centerpiece of the tribute will be the chorus, with 100 ACU students singing," says McCaleb.

The service is free and open to the public. The event may be seen via live streaming at acu.edu/live.  For more information about the Veterans Day ceremony, contact the ACU Chapel Office at 325-674-2867.
