Undefeated Wildcats ranked No. 4 in the nation
Posted October 18, 2010The Abilene Christian University Wildcats hammered University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio this past Saturday in a 54-17 victory. ACU quarterback Mitchell Gale threw for 379 yards and five touchdowns.
With the victory, the undefeated Wildcats are ranked No. 4 in the latest American Football Coaches' Association NCAA Division II poll, which was released Monday.
ACU's offense totaled 526 yards (419 passing and 107 rushing) and held the Cardinals to 265 (176 passing and 89 rushing).
Now 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Lone Star Conference South Division, the Wildcats next face the 3-4 Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds. The game will be Saturday, Oct. 23, in Portales, N.M. at Greyhound Stadium at 3 p.m.
