ACU author, Karen Witemeyer, to have book signing Oct. 9

Posted October 01, 2010

Karen Witemeyer, noted author from ACU, will hold a book signing with her newest Christian fiction release, Head in the Clouds, Saturday, Oct. 9. She will be in downtown Abilene at the Texas Star Trading Company from 1-3 p.m. and at Lifeway Christian Store from 4-6 p.m.

"With Head in the Clouds, I wanted to write about a woman with big dreams who grows impatient when God doesn't seem to be answering her prayers," says Witemeyer. "The longer God is silent, the more confused and frustrated she becomes until she finally takes matters into her own hands and pursues her dreams in the way she thinks best. It is only when she learns to wait on the Lord that He begins to work in her life to bring about blessings she never before imagined."

The book has already received positive reviews from Publisher's Weekly and Romantic Times, who gave the book four stars.

Copies of her June release, A Tailor-Made Bride, which has already sold more than 40,000 copies, will be available at the book signing as well.

Witemeyer received her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in psychology, both from ACU, and has served as ACU's Coordinator of University Testing since 2003. She is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers, Romance Writers of America and the Texas Coalition of Authors. She has published fiction in Focus on the Family's children's magazine, and has written several articles for online publications and anthologies.

Witemeyer's next book, To Win Her Heart, is scheduled to release May 2011.
