Search for new ACU president officially opens; prospectus available

Abilene Christian University's Presidential Search Advisory Committee has approved and published a search prospectus and is now accepting applications for the next president of ACU.

The prospectus provides an overview of the position and information about ACU for prospective candidates. The search committee developed the document after conducting surveys and group interviews with ACU alumni, board members, church representatives, community representatives, faculty, staff and students.

The prospectus is available on ACU's presidential search Web site and www.academic-search.com. In addition, the position is being advertised in The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Christian Chronicle, Women in Higher Education and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

"ACU has been blessed with a century’s worth of visionary servant-leaders to help guide this university," said Don W. Crisp, chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. "We prayerfully look forward to God showing us the next one to lead Abilene Christian well into its second 100 years, and the successful realization of our 21st-Century Vision."

Applications will be received until the position is filled, but to assure full consideration, applicants must have all required materials on file by Oct. 30. All application materials must be electronically submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format to acupresident@academic-search.com. Telephone inquiries should be directed to Bill Franklin at 830-249-1444.
