ACU remains in top five percent of business schools worldwide

Abilene Christian University's College of Business Administration (COBA) remains in the company of some of the most respected business institutions in the nation, receiving official re-accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Only five percent of business schools in the world hold this accreditation.

"AACSB International is the highest watermark of business education in the world," said Dr. Rick Lytle, dean of the College of Business Administration at ACU. "In my opinion, if you want to suggest that you have a world class academic program, you must be willing to meet the 27 quality standards found in the AACSB framework."

ACU is one of only six private schools with undergraduate programs in business in the state that is AACSB-accredited. To receive re-affirmation, the College of Business had to complete a rigorous five-year review of its programs and outcomes along with a review of its 21st Century Vision. At the heart of AACSB's re-affirmation is the recognition of continued high quality academics and a commitment to continuous improvement and curricula responsive to the dynamic needs of global business, Lytle said.

Accredited universities are institutions of assured quality and excellence who are expected to continually improve in undergraduate and graduate education for business administration and accounting, according to the AACSB website. ACU will be required to go through a peer review every five years to ensure the university continues to meet requirements to maintain accreditation.
