Posted March 06, 2009
Apple Inc. selected Dr. Bill Rankin, director of educational innovation at ACU, as an Apple Distinguished Educator Program in the class of 2009.
According to the Apple, Inc. Web site, Distinguished Educators "are members of a select group of K-12 and Higher Education professionals possessing an identified expertise in educational technology leadership."
Because of his work with ACU's ConnectEd Mobile Learning Initiative, Rankin has been asked to join this group of more than 1,200 educators from Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A., Canada, Europe, Japan and Latin America.
"Apple is pleased to welcome William Rankin as one of the 52 newly selected members for the ADE Class of 2009 in the USA," said Maxx Judd, senior manager for education advocacy programs at Apple Inc.
ADEs are charged with the roles of advocating Apple technologies and providing expert assistance about them, giving valuable input to Apple about integrating instructional technology into learning environments, and publishing work such as teaching and leadership best practices and lesson ideas. They serve two-year terms.
