"I personally hope students walk away from these activities realizing they have each been given one of the most powerful gifts on earth: choice," said Naomi Mandel, ACU's Peer Health Coordinator. "I also hope that students will realize that some of the seemingly trivial choices they make during Spring Break, or on a daily basis, can have a huge impact on their lives. My prayer is that students will begin to recognize the power of a positive choice, no matter how small."
Each day of the week, students will focus on different types of choices they may be confronted with. On Monday, Brian Mandel, Youth Minister for Morning Star Community Church, will speak in Chapel on choosing wisely. After Chapel, students can participate in a "Seat Belt Relay" and enter to win a Car Care Pack. On Tuesday, booths will be set up in the Campus Center to offer information on healthy relationship choices. On Wednesday, a live cooking demonstration will occur in the Campus Center. Students can sample nutritious, cheap and easy to prepare dishes. They will also have the chance to win prize packages from Hendrick Health Club, Power Shack Gym and Smoothie King. On Thursday, an obstacle course will be set up for students to ride through while wearing goggles that will impair them slightly. Information on inappropriate drinking and drug use will be available.
