Hilton Food Court opens
After months of renovations, the long-awaited Bill and Alvah Jean Hilton Food Court officially began service on the first day of classes. The modern-style food court, located in ACU's Student Center, was created to expand capacity and reduce congestion, as well as allow for a quicker ordering and service process, said Levi Karr, director of ACU Food Services.
According to Karr, the food court's design was based on extensive focus groups, surveys and discussions with the ACU community.
"These studies identified the design and mix of brands that ACU students, faculty and staff desired," said Karr. "Besides the new design, the food court now features a Quiznos, Energy Zone smoothie shop and breakfast menu at Chick-Fil-A. The previously existing Pizza Hut and Chick-Fil-A both moved into larger locations in the new food court."
Survey results also indicated consumer interest in more healthy dining choices.
"We listened, and the Quiznos Subs and Energy Zone Smoothies have been added to provide healthy options for students and to expand variety in the food court," said Karr.
The grand opening for the food court will be Sept. 13, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students can register for free prizes and food each time they purchase a combo meal from the food court Sept. 10-12, said Karr. Names will be drawn at the Giveaway Extravaganza during the celebration at 11:50 a.m. and 3 p.m.
