ACU named one of the "Best in the West" by Princeton Review
The Princeton Review has again named Abilene Christian University as one of the "Best in the West," said Dr. Michelle Morris, ACU vice president for university relations.
ACU is one of 123 schools receiving this distinction as "an academically excellent institution of higher learning" for the 15-state western region of the United States.
"ACU continues to receive national recognition for its outstanding quality and unique student experience," Morris said. "Talented, Christian students are drawn here from across the country and 60 nations, and we believe these quality students make ACU especially strong. This particular recognition is special because part of the evaluation is a survey of our students."
ACU has received this distinction for several years. The university is included in the 2008 Best Colleges: Region by Region list. The list identifies 644 top colleges nationwide, divided into four regions: Northeastern, Western, Southeastern and Midwestern.
According to
The Princeton Review Web site, the company does not use a mathematical formula to select its colleges and universities of distinction. Instead, the selection team looks at standards of academic excellence within the region and anonymously surveys the students at each university. The list is created to help prospective college students and their parents find an institution of higher education that will provide exactly the education they want.
