ACU to confer degrees, awards at May Commencement
commencementAbilene Christian University plans to award 496 undergraduate degrees and 80 graduate degrees during May Commencement May 12 in Moody Coliseum on the ACU campus.

Commencement for the College of Biblical Studies, the College of Business Administration and the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing will begin at 11 a.m. Ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Human Services will be at 3 p.m.

During the ceremonies, Dr. Richard Beck, associate professor and chair of the Department of Psychology, will give "A Charge to the Class of 2007" and will present diplomas to the graduates. Awards and honors will be presented by Dr. Royce Money, ACU president, and Dr. Dwayne VanRheenen, ACU provost. Don W. Crisp ('64) of Dallas, will be presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws during the ceremonies. Crisp is the chairman of The Rosewood Corporation and former chairman of the ACU Board of Trustees.

A casual reception for graduates and their families will be held immediately following each ceremony in the Mall Area of campus. The reception will include music and photo opportunities with professors, friends and family.
