ACU 2006 commemorative Christmas ornament features Sewell Auditorium

Sewell OrnamentSewell Auditorium is the fourth in a series of commemorative ACU ornaments from Women for Abilene Christian University. These ornaments spotlight historical buildings and significant moments in ACU's first 100 years.

Sewell Auditorium was one of the original eight buildings constructed when ACU moved its campus to "the Hill" in September 1929. Daily chapel was held in the building from 1929 to 1968.

The ornaments are crafted by ChemArt of Lincoln, R.I., the same manufacturer that annually produces the popular Capitol ornament series for the Texas State Preservation Board.

The etched-brass ornament features a 24kt gold finish, measures 3.5" x 2.75" and comes in a custom gift box. Each ornament sells for $25 plus $1.50 shipping.

All proceeds benefit the WACU Scholarship Endowment Fund. Women for Abilene Christian University was established in 1969. Its members have conducted campus projects and invested approximately $1 million in ACU through scholarships, remodeling, landscaping and library books.

A limited number of the 2005 (featuring the Centennial logo), 2004 (featuring the World Missions Globe) and 2003 ornaments (featuring the Hardin Administration Building) are still available. Call 800-373-4220 to order any of these keepsake ornaments. Ornaments can also be purchased online through the Campus Store at www.campusstore.acu.edu.
