Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate the Nancy and Ray Hansen Reading Commons - (DATE/TIME TBD)

 

ACU Library will celebrate the renovation of the Learning Commons with a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by Dr. John Weaver, Professor of Library Science and Dean of the Library and Educational Technology, and Ray Hansen (‘53).  Join us as we celebrate the Nancy and Ray Hansen Reading Commons, a community space for book browsing and reading.

Poetry Slam in the Library Forum - (DATE/TIME TBD)

Back by popular demand, ACU Library will partner with ACU’s Department of Language and Literature for Poetry Slam in the library forum.  Poetry Slam is open to all and will feature performances by Al Haley’s poetry workshop students, as well as anyone else interested in participating in the open mic session.

Cover2Cover in the Nancy and Ray Hansen Reading Commons - October 31, 10AM

Join the Language and Literature department and ACU Library for Cover2Cover, a marathon-style reading in the Reading Commons.  You’ll enjoy readings from faculty, students and special guests.  Stop by, listen, and grab some candy in the Library on Halloween!

International Open Access Week - October 22 - 28

Share in the celebration of International Open Access Week with cookies and chances for prize giveaways at the Research Desk.  All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to visit the Research Desk in the Learning Commons to learn more about the newly passed Open Access Policy at ACU, how to upload scholarly articles to DC@ACU, and how to obtain free access to scholarly articles for research.

CreativeU - (DATE/TIME TBD)

Join us for CreativeU a day-long event of design and creativity from the ACU community.  This fun-filled day will highlight creative work of faculty, staff and students which will be on display throughout the library, spotlight T-shirt and bookmark designs with an announcement of contest winners, design workshops and more!
