Brantly book set for release July 21Posted July 17, 2015
Dr. Kent and Amber Brantly will embark on a book tour next week to coincide with the release of their memoir about life as medical missionaries in Liberia and Brantly’s battle with Ebola.
The book, Called for Life: How Loving Our Neighbor Led Us into the Heart of the Ebola Epidemic, will be released on Tuesday, one year after Brantly became ill.
After contracting the Ebola virus in summer 2014, Brantly was evacuated to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., where he recovered and was later reunited with his family. Brantly now serves as the medical missions advisor for Samaritan’s Purse and is based in Fort Worth.
The Brantly are recipients of Abilene Christian University’s 2015 Young Alumni of the Year award. Brantly will be featured speaker at the university’s Opening Assembly on Monday, Aug. 24, in Moody Coliseum.
