ACU to offer online MBA in Fall 2015

Posted April 28, 2015

Beginning this fall, ACU will offer a new online Master of Business Administration designed for working professionals.

The MBA is one of the most sought-after graduate programs in the United States, said Dr. Rick Lytle, dean of ACU’s College of Business Administration.

“For years, the College of Business Administration at ACU has prepared students for Christ-centered leadership in the global marketplace,” Lytle said. However, that preparation has been limited to students who were able to come to the Abilene campus.

“Now, we’re excited to extend that vision by providing a high-quality MBA for working professionals that meets the needs of the 21st-century marketplace,” Lytle said.

Pending approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the first cohort will begin this fall.

The 36-hour degree is designed to take approximately 24 months to complete and is ideal for working professionals who want to earn an advanced degree while continuing their careers. The entire degree can be completed online, and courses follow a seven-week format in which students complete one course at a time.

“The ACU MBA focuses on academic excellence, faith in God, and leadership for a global marketplace,” Lytle said. “We think that having the character that God wants you to have and being academically excellent are the two fundamental characteristics of leadership in the global marketplace.”

ACU’s College of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). AACSB represents the highest standard of accreditation for schools of business. According to the AACSB, only 5 percent of institutions offering business degrees have earned its accreditation.
