Registration open for 2015 Springboard IdeasPosted February 03, 2015
The 2015 Springboard Ideas Challenge, a mini business plan competition sponsored by the Griggs Center for Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy at Abilene Christian University, is now open for registration.
Each spring, the Griggs Center hosts this competition with the goal of providing aspiring entrepreneurs at ACU and in Abilene and the surrounding West Texas region an opportunity to get their business up and running with significant cash and in-kind prizes.
All that is required to apply is a business concept or idea. The contest entry can be completed online.
A panel of judges will select promising ideas from the online applications to advance to the next phase. Once selected, these contestants will be required to submit a business plan to elaborate on their concept to potential investors. Judges will then select finalists to move on to the finals, where contestants will create a 10-15 minute presentation for live judges followed by a Q&A about their plan.
Finalists will attend an awards dinner on Thursday, April 9, where they will showcase their ideas, and winners of each category will be announced.
The competition is split into two divisions: the community division with a grand prize of $20,000 and the student division with a grand prize of $10,000. All prize money is donated by a variety of local sponsors.
Applicants must be 18 years old, a permanent resident of one of the 19 qualifying counties that surround the Abilene area, or must be attending one of the colleges in the surrounding area.
