Hispanic Council to host college seminar

The Hispanic Leadership Council of Abilene will host its annual Career and College Planning Seminar on Saturday, Jan. 31, on the campus of Abilene Christian University.

The Hispanic Leadership Council is a community organization established to provide leadership development opportunities for Hispanics in Abilene and the Big Country.

The seminar will take place from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at ACU’s Hunter Welcome Center. Sessions are available for parents, and high school seniors, juniors and sophomores.

Attendees will learn about college admissions, financial aid and scholarship search. College representatives from different coleges and universities will be on hand, as well as employers and career advisors. Door prizes will include a laptop and an iPod.

The 2015 HLC Scholarship Application will be distributed during the seminar. Seminar attendance will be factored in scholarship decisions.
