JMC department recognizes 22nd Annual Gutenberg honoreesPosted October 15, 2014
ABILENE – A Nashville filmmaker, Fort Worth advertising executive and the HR director for Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores were honored by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Abilene Christian University on Oct. 9 during the 22nd Annual Gutenberg Celebration.
To be considered for the award, a candidate must be a 10-year alumnus/alumna of ACU. Selections were made by JMC department faculty and honorees were presented scale models of Gutenberg printing presses, hand-crafted by Dr. Charlie Marler, professor emeritus of JMC.
This year's honorees included:
- Randy Brewer ('93) Founder, Executive Producer of Revolution Pictures, Nashville
- Steve Cantrell ('81) Director of Client Services, Media Specialist at The Balcom Agency, Fort Worth
- Cindy Leeper Shields ('89) Director, Human Resources at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., Nashville
Introduced in 1993, the Gutenbergs recognize distinguished professional achievements of Journalism and Mass Communication Department alumni.
