Entra la Plaza promotes Hispanic culture

Posted October 01, 2014

Hispanos Unidos, a student organization at ACU, recently held its free annual event promoting Hispanic culture, Entra la Plaza. Roughly 750 attendees enjoyed a festive night of dancing, performances, face painting and traditional food.

"This is one of my favorite events at ACU,” says Paloma Cavazos, student organizer for the event. “On this night people from all over the Abilene community come together for a night of culture, fun, and entertainment.”

Two attendees, Guinia Wooden and Bright Ntambara, found the event especially enjoyable because of its wide appeal to families and international cultures.

“It was such a fun event with great food and many activities for people of different ages," says Wooden.

"I loved it! I was able to meet with people from different countries and learn about a new culture," adds Ntambara.
