On-Campus Employment Announcement

New procedures will be in place for international students who work on campus starting Spring semester 2013.

All students who will be starting a new job or are currently working on-campus must fill out the International Student On-Campus Employment form. Each time you get a new job, this form will be required before you can begin the new position.

The purpose of the form is to confirm your eligibility for on-campus employment and inform your new employers of the 20 hour per week limitation. The employers can then be your partners in keeping your work hours within the 20 hour limit.

ACU has a new process to monitor F-1/J-1 student on-campus work hours. Students working over 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters will be subject to SEVIS termination for unauthorized employment. This termination will mean a student must stop working immediately and leave the US. Future F-1 visa applications may be denied due to previous history of illegal work in the U.S.

A week is figured from Sunday to Saturday, which is not always the same as the timesheet. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that his/her work hours are in compliance.

For a demonstration of the process, please view one of the presentations on Prezi listed below:

  1. For students who are currently working on-campus
  2. For students who do not currently work on-campus
