International Student Resources

Welcome to Abilene Christian University Graduate School! We are excited that you are considering one of our graduate programs. International students should apply to the Graduate School using the Graduate School Application.

Once you have received official admission from the Graduate School through email, please begin the next steps listed below to facilitate your entry into the United States if you have been admitted to a U.S.-based residential program. You may wish to first review the "Guide to Immigration Terms and Documents". Online students are not eligible for entry to the U.S. as students.

  • Submit your application for admission to the graduate school.

For residential programs only: 

  • Submit a copy of your passport identity page and financial statements for the immigration documents to Read more about the funding and documents required here.
  • Transfer graduate students please submit the transfer page for the SEVIS transfer.
  • Arrange for the shipping of your documents. This will contain your I-20 or DS-2019 "Certificate of Eligibility", original admission letter and scholarship letters.
  • Schedule your visa appointment with the U.S. Consulate or Embassy nearest you. Check with the U.S. Consulate or Embassy website nearest you for the requirements. You may wish to review "10 Tips for Getting a Visa" before you interview.
  • Receive your visa and book your flight to Abilene, Texas. Be aware that ACU only offers airport pick-up from the Abilene airport (Airport code: ABI).
  • Follow the steps for admitted students (your MyACU account and paying your bill, locating housing, and arranging for graduate student orientation).
  • Contact the Coordinator for International Student Services in the CIE regarding your travel arrangements and airport pick-up, dates for the required new international student orientation and housing questions.
