Admissions Requirements
In addition to the Graduate School Admission requirements which consist of:
- Application (Apply Online or paper)
- $50 Application Fee
- 3 References (Apply Online or paper)
- Purpose Statement
- GPA of 3.0 in all undergraduate course work in nursing
- Entrance test score: Graduate Record Examp (GRE) 850 (minimum) verbal and quantitative
- Official Undergrad College Transcripts
Admission to the MS in nursing requires the following to be submitted to or conducted by the School of Nursing:
- Unencumbered licensure to practice as an RN in Texas and in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing practice.
- Three letters of recommendation. Recommendations should be obtained from supervisors having knowledge of your clinical skills, work ethic and style, and/or professors attesting to your academic achievements and potential success in a graduate nursing program.
- Completion of an PHSSN application sent by the School of Nursing.
- Interview with program director.
- For students whose first language is not English, an officially reported Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 (written).
- A completed PHSSN Health Form and proof of current immunization status.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification) is required for students prior to beginning clinical courses.
Application Process
- Complete an online application to the ACU Graduate School and pay the application fee.
- Submit your official transcripts from all colleges attended. If you are still enrolled in an undergraduate program, send us your unofficial transcripts so we can begin reviewing your application.
- Send us your completed application documents. For a detailed list of requirement, see above.
- Take the GRE and request that your official scores be sent to ACU. Our GRE code is 6001. For more information visit ets.org/gre.
