Program Accreditation

The Educational Leadership Program at Abilene Christian University, which is designed to prepare outstanding educators to lead and serve in the schools of the 21st Century through a preparation program based on a Christian worldview, is granted Initial Accreditation by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) for a period of five years, from March 2013-March 2018.  This accreditation certifies that the forenamed professional education program has provided evidence that the program adheres to TEAC's quality principles.

Abilene Christian University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees. 2015 U.S. News & World Report

America's Best Colleges
Abilene Christian University is again ranked among the nation's Top 20 regional universities (West) as determined by U.S. News & World Report in its new "America's Best Colleges" guide.  ACU is 17th overall among top-tier regional universities, and again No. 2 on the "Up-and-Comers" list. ACU has been ranked either first or second in this innovators’ category six of the past seven years.
ACU also ranks sixth among regional universities in the "Best Value" category. That designation is based on Abilene Christian's academic quality weighed against net cost of attendance. It's the seventh consecutive year that ACU has appeared on this list.
For the first time, the university also is named among the "Best Colleges for Veterans."

The Princeton Review  has again named Abilene Christian University one of the "Best in the West" for 2014. ACU is one of 124 schools receiving this distinction as "academically excellent institutions of higher learning" for the 15-state western region of the U.S.
 America's Best Colleges - Forbes Magazine
ACU is one of "America's Best Colleges" as determined by Forbes Magazine in a rankings list published in August 2014. Forbes joined with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity to chose 650 schools based on "the quality of the education they provide, the experience of the students and how much they achieve." ACU was ranked No. 526 overall, placing the university in the top 10 percent of the 6,600 accredited postsecondary institutions eligible for consideration. ACU and Pepperdine were the only two universities on the list affiliated with Churches of Christ.
 America's 100 Best College Buys
For the 12th consecutive year, ACU is included in America's 100 Best College Buys. To be included in the book, universities must provide "the highest quality in education at the lowest cost." ACU is the only private university in Texas named to the list
 Apple Distinguished Program
Abilene Christian University has been named an Apple Distinguished School 
in recognition of its culture of innovation, its leadership in the area of 
mobility, and its overall educational excellence. The Apple Distinguished School designation is reserved for programs that 
are recognized centers of educational excellence and leadership. ACU has 
twice previously been awarded recognition by Apple as a Distinguished Program.
