Steve has been a clinical supervisor for the Department of Marriage and Family Studies since 2001, where he is known for his collaborative, solution-focused supervision style. Steve is a Clinical Fellow and an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to his work with the MFT program, Steve serves as the Director of the University Counseling Center at ACU, for which he received the Outstanding ACU Staff Award in 2005. In his own clinical work, Steve prefers to use solution-focused and narrative therapy.
Steve is married to Kim, and they have two children, Nate and Will. In his free time, Steve enjoys performing in cowboy reenactments, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Steve and Kim are active members of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
