Note: Literature students are also required to take six hours of American Literature, and six hours of British Literature (three before 1789, three after). ENGL 631 can help fulfill this requirement. Comp/Rhetoric students are required to take one literature course.
Note: Students writing a thesis will enroll in three thesis hours their third semester, and three thesis hours their fourth semester, the latter in lieu of Intensive Research.
Note: Students may take up to six graduate hours out of the department. These must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies.
