Pre-Arrival Information
There are a number of things you should consider prior to arriving on Abilene Christian University's campus. We've compiled a list of some of the most important items below in order to make your transition to campus easy. Student ID Card
Your Student ID Card provides access to a number of resources on campus. This card can be obtained by visiting The Depot in the McGlothlin Campus Center. Details about this will be covered in your Graduate Student Orientation.
Parking Permit
All students who operate a vehicle/motorcycle on university property, regularly or occasionally, are required to register the vehicle with the ACU Police Department within the first week of classes and are required to display the current year parking permit. All parking permits, registration forms, and related documents are available in The Depot located in the McGlothlin Campus Center. Details on obtaining a parking permit will be covered in your Graduate Student Orientation.
Contacting Your Advisor
One of the most important steps after being admitted is to contact your advisor. It is important to begin communication with your department and advisor to make sure that you can register for classes, verify that you've met all requirements, and that you've secured your place in the program. Your advisor's contact information can be found by visiting our list of graduate advisors.
Where To Get Your Books
Textbooks are available for purchase at the ACU Campus Store, which is located in the McGlothlin Campus Center.
Register For MyACU
Once you've been enrolled into ACU your next step should be to register your MyACU account. To register for your MyACU account you'll need your social security number and birth date information.
Register For Classes
As a graduate student at ACU, there are two primary ways that you may be registered for classes-- advisor registration and self-service registration.
Advisor Registration
If your program uses the Advisor Registration method, contact your advisor to ensure you have been registered for courses.
Self-Service Registration
If your program uses the Self-Service Registration method, contact your advisor to determine which courses you should enroll in and to obtain your advising release code.
Registration Steps for Self-Service Registration
Once logged into your MyACU account click 'Banner' on the top right hand corner of your screen. Follow the link 'Student & Financial Aid', then 'Registration'. You will need to have your advising release code, which can be obtained from your advisor. From here you can look register under 'Select Term', you can add or drop classes, see your registration status, look-up possible classes, see your schedule, etc.

Register for Graduate Student Orientation
The Graduate School will host a Graduate Student Orientation on Friday, August 24, 2012 for all incoming Graduate Students. Orientation will cover where to get parking permits, how to obtain a Student ID card, programs and opportunities for graduate students on campus, how to get involved, and answer any other questions that you may have.
