2009 Sing Song Hosts and Hostesses

Hosts and Hostesses

During the early years of Sing Song, an emcee created transitions between group acts, but in 1967 a host and hostess joined the show to sing and banter between acts, allowing time for groups to transition on and off stage. Eventually, the roles of host and hostess grew to be as much a part of the musical entertainment of Sing Song as the group acts themselves. The number of hosts and hostesses went to four in 1971 -- two men and two women. Now, the number is flexible -- typically between five and seven depending on how a panel of judges from the Abilene community evaluate the blend of the voices. This year, three men and three women comprise your host and hostess team: Coy Greathouse, Adrienne Linge, Jessica Patterson, Donovan Plummer, Jennifer Rasco and Sam Souder.
