1999 Economic Outlook Conference to be conducted at ACU

The 1999 Economic Outlook Conference for Taylor County
will be conducted at Abilene Christian University's Teague
Special Events Center Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 11:15 a.m. to
1:30 p.m.
The conference will include a forecast for the 1999
economic activities of the various industries in Taylor
County.
Dr. Stephen P. Magee, Bayless/Enstar professor of finance
and economics at the University of Texas, Austin, will
present the national and state outlook. Magee is an
internationally respected scholar, adviser and
economist.
Dr. Thomas Kim, economist-in-residence at ACU, will
present the economic outlook for Abilene with a specific
focus on economic activities in Taylor County during
1999.
Scott Dueser, president and CEO of First National Bank of
Abilene, will present the regional economic outlook.
Tickets to the conference (including lunch) cost $30. To

Attendees will receive a 24-page documents outlining the
economic fluctuations of the Taylor County area since
1992.
Sponsors of the conference include ACU's College of
Business Administration, American State Bank, Blue Cross and
Blue Shield of Texas, First National Bank of Abilene, Hanner
Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC SuperCenter, Hendrick Health System,
Southwestern Bell and West Texas Utilities.
A table will be reserved for working media, for which
tickets will not be necessary.
