Church of Christ leadership forum to take place at Highland Oaks church

The second annual Administrative Leaders Forum, a gathering of Church of Christ leaders that provides networking, resource sharing, presentations and stimulating conversation, will take place May 8-10 at Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas.

Church administrators, senior ministers and other church personnel are invited to this 500-member church where issues associated with church work will be confronted during a two-day leadership workshop.

"We really want to connect with church leaders from all over," said Jon Mullican, forum organizer.

The event will begin with an optional reception May 8 at 7 p.m., followed by the two-day event. The event will confront a range of church leadership-related topics: church leadership structure; long term fund development; theology of church administration; church ministry structure; team building within church staff and church groups; overall church finance; and staff development. More topics will be announced later.

Mullican said that individuals from Churches of Christ across the country will attend this event, and it is meant to be used as a resource for church administrators and leaders.

Registration for the event is $130. This price includes the optional reception, entertainment, two lunches and materials for the event. A limited number of rooms have been reserved for the conference at the Mesquite Courtyard by Marriott, and the rate is $90 per night. For hotel reservations, call 972-681-3300.

The first Administrative Leaders Forum took place in November at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ with positive response.

"The response was so positive that a second gathering is now scheduled for May," said Dr. Charles Siburt, Abilene Christian University’s vice president for church relations.
