Microsoft's Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Turner, will be speaking at Abilene Christian University Dec. 8, at noon, in the Teague Special Events Center. Turner is part of ACU's Distinguished Speaker Series, hosted by the College of Business Administration. The series is designed to bring national business leaders of integrity to Abilene to share their keys to success and how they have integrated faith and Biblical principles into their work.
"The speaker series includes business professionals who have proven success in business and in their personal lives," said Michael Winegeart, assistant professor of management sciences and director of collaborative learning. "Their stories will inspire, admonish and mentor attendees in their professional growth and development."
As Microsoft's COO, Turner is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company's worldwide sales, marketing and services organization. He leads a global organization of more than 32,000 employees, including field sales and marketing professionals who delivered more than $40 billion in revenue during 2005.
In addition to driving sales and marketing programs, Turner manages corporate support organization, including product and customer support service, branding, advertising, public relations, marketing research, relationship marketing and also oversees corporate operations and internal information.
Turner has been recognized in Time magazine's "People to Watch in International Business," No. 4 on FORTUNE magazine's "Top 10 Most Influential" in "40 Under 40," and CIO magazine's "20/20 Vision Awards."
