Christian author Lauren Winner will be the guest speaker during Abilene Christian University's Chapel at 11 a.m. Nov. 9 in Moody Coliseum. She will also speak later that evening at a Chapel forum beginning at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum. In both sessions, Winner will discuss the topic of Christianity and human sexuality.
Winner is the author of three books, Girl Meets God, Mudhouse Sabbath and Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity. She is also a former book editor for Beliefnet and has appeared on PBS's Religion & Ethics Newsweekly.
Winner has written for publications including The New York Times Book Review, The Washington Post Book World, Publishers Weekly and Christianity Today. Winner's essays were included in The Best Christian Writing 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.
While on campus, Winner will also speak to ACU's women faculty and staff members at a luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 10.Winner's visit to ACU is sponsored by the W Club, a women's honor organization at ACU. The purpose of W Club is to inspire young women to maturity as Christians and to recognize those who have rendered outstanding service to ACU.
