ACU to celebrate Homecoming Oct. 12-15
Abilene Christian University students, faculty and alumni will celebrate the university's 101st year with the Homecoming theme "ACU 101" on Oct. 12-15.
Class reunions will be held for class years ending in one and six and for the Golden Anniversary Club, which includes all classes prior to 1956. A new "zero reunion" will be held for alumni from the class of 2006.
Homecoming Highlights for the week include:
THURSDAY
- Gutenberg Dinner - honoring three journalism and mass communication alumni, 6:30 p.m. in the Teague Special Events Center. For reservation information, call 325-674-2296.
- Blackout Pep Rally - 9:30-10:30 p.m. A pep rally hosted by the Homecoming Steering Committee on Thursday, and featuring a "pep talk" from head football coach Chris Thomsen.
FRIDAY
- Homecoming Carnival - 5-8 p.m. in the mall area of the campus.
- JamFest - featuring Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys, O Scarlet and other student bands, 5 p.m. behind Zona Luce.
- ACU Sports Hall of Fame Celebration - honoring four new inductees, 7 p.m. in the Teague Special Events Center. For reservation information, call 325-674-2353.
SATURDAY - Homecoming Parade - 9:30 a.m beginning near the intersection of EN 16th Street and Judge Ely Boulevard, and continuing down Campus Court toward Ambler.
- Homecoming Chapel - 10:45 a.m. in Moody Coliseum, including presentation of the Coming Home Court and the Homecoming Queen nominees.

- Wildcat Football Game – 2 p.m. at Shotwell Stadium against Angelo State University. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime.
